Mais qui donc est ce petit garçon ?
Il s’agit du dernier empereur de Chine, Puyi, de son nom complet mandchou : Aixinjueluo Puyi. Son histoire est peu commune puisque né en 1906, il devient, en 1908, empereur de Chine, à l’âge de 2 ans seulement ! (son père Zai Feng en assure la régence).
Il est le douzième et dernier empereur de la dynastie Qing (1644-1912), la dernière qui régna sur l’Empire chinois.
Puyi sera empereur, bibliothécaire, jardiner et prisonnier. Puyi vit a Pékin, dans le palais de la Cité interdite. Tout commence le jour où Cixi (impératrice douairière de Chine durant la dynastie Qing et arrière grande tante de Puyi) meurt. Puyi doit alors monter sur le trône à l’âge de 2 ans. Les chinois pensent que l’empereur est un dieu vivant et qu’il a une nature céleste. De ce fait, tout le monde le craint et personne n’ose être honnête avec lui.
Être empereur, ce n’est pas chose simple. Surtout à 3 ans ! Puyi doit obéir à des règles assez absurdes pour son âge : on lui impose une heure de lever et de coucher, on lui impose un nombre de pas à respecter entre sa chambre et la salle à manger.. Bref, l’enfance de puyi est strcite et sans libertées. Il se sent alors très seul et est exclu du monde exterieur.
À l’extérieur la chine, c’est la tempête. Le peuple chinois veut quelque chose de nouveau. Il veut une façon plus moderne de gouverner le pays. Le peuple se révolte. C’est le général Yuan Shikai, nommé pour stopper les mouvements de révolte, et notamment le soulèvement de Wuchang du 10.10.1911, se retourne contre le pouvoir en place et pousse le jeune empereur à abdiquer le 12 février 1912, mettant fin à la dynastie Qing et à la période féodale. Puyi à 6 ans et doit renoncer a son trône. Il abdique. Il est néanmoins autorisé à rester dans la cité interdite.
Puyi espère néanmoins un jour redevenir empereur. En 1924, Puyi est chassé de la Cité interdite. Il a alors 18 ans et n’est jamais sorti de son palais. Il déménage à Tianjin, où des diplomates Japonais vont le manipuler dans le but de conquérir la Chine. En 1931, le japon envahi la chine. Ils prennent le contrôle de la mandchourie, qui se trouve être la terre des ancêtres de Puyi. Les japonais lui propose de devenir empereur. ll accepte aveuglément. Il devient empereur mais ne peut pas faire ce qu’il veut et doit obéir aux japonais. Puyi se trouve prit au piège durant 11 ans. Il est ensuite embarqué aux mains des soviétqiues, puis Mao Zedong le fait revenir en Chine. Puyi est enfermé dans un centre de détention en vue de sa “rééducation”. Puis, au sortir de ce centre, il a alors 52 ans et pour la premère fois de sa vie, il est libre.
Puyi décède en 1967 à Pékin.
